Bunnell is the county seat of Flagler County, about 15 minutes west of Palm Coast along State Road 100. The old downtown has the courthouse, a few local shops and restaurants, and the county fairgrounds are just outside town.
It's where you go in Flagler County for land. You'll find homes on one to ten acres, room for a workshop, horses or an RV, and prices that are usually lower than Palm Coast. There are also older homes in town and newer subdivisions going up around it. Bunnell has approved thousands of new homes over the next several years, so a lot is changing.
With acreage and rural homes, I check well and septic, zoning (some land allows animals or a second structure and some doesn't), flood zone, and road access. On new homes, I look at the builder, the lot and what's planned next door.
