Family-Friendly Things to Do in Palm Coast:

Family-Friendly Things to Do in Palm Coast: The Ultimate Guide to Local Parks & Fun

If you’re searching for the best ways to create lasting family memories in Palm Coast, you’re in the right place. As a North Florida local and parent, I love exploring the parks and hidden gems this area has to offer with my own family. Here’s my guide to the top family-friendly parks and outdoor adventures—complete with addresses and inside tips—so you can explore Palm Coast like a local.

James F. Holland Memorial Park

Address: 18 Florida Park Dr., Palm Coast, FL 32137

This 26-acre park is a true hub for family fun, fitness, and connection. The massive, shaded playground draws kids of all ages with its climbing walls, zip line, archaeological dig, sandpit, slides, and unique coquina rock features. There’s an awesome splash pad (including a toddler area), so bring swimsuits! Sports lovers will find tennis and pickleball courts, bocce, shuffleboard, basketball, sand volleyball, and multi-purpose sports fields. The dog park is spacious, with separate areas for large and small dogs, and there are several covered pavilions and walking trails that wind through the entire space. Plus, you can enjoy local history at the onsite Palm Coast Historical Society Museum.
Pro tip: This is one of our favorite weekend stops—pack a lunch, let the kids run wild, and don’t forget to try the walking trail.

Central Park at Town Center

Address: 975 Central Ave., Palm Coast, FL 32164

Smack dab in the heart of downtown, Central Park is more than just a green space—it’s a community gathering spot. The park features a sparkling lake with a fountain, a half-mile bricked walking trail, open lawns perfect for play or a picnic, and hosts lively seasonal events like Food Truck Tuesdays and family movie nights. This is the go-to place for Palm Coast’s biggest community celebrations.
Insider tip: Check the city calendar before your visit, as there’s often something fun happening for families.

Waterfront Park

Address: 150 Waterfront Park Rd., Palm Coast, FL 32137

Nestled under a canopy of mature trees along the Intracoastal Waterway, Waterfront Park is ideal for a peaceful family afternoon. There’s a playground, picnic pavilions, restrooms, a bike and walking trail (great for scooters!), a fishing pier and floating dock, and kayak/paddleboard rentals for something different. Wildlife lovers can spot manatees or dolphins right from the shore, and the Children’s Memorial Garden offers a quiet spot for reflection.
Must-do: Walk the trail north to the garden and bring binoculars for wildlife spotting.

Wadsworth Park (with Skate Park!)

Address: 2200 Moody Blvd., Flagler Beach, FL 32136

A huge, 45-acre county park just over the bridge in Flagler Beach, Wadsworth Park has something for everyone—including a fenced, lighted skate park for skaters of all ages (helmets required). That’s in addition to tennis, basketball, racquetball and volleyball courts, lighted soccer fields, two playgrounds, picnic pavilions, a dog park, canoe launch, boardwalk, and scenic walking trails. It’s a lively place for both daytime adventure and evening sports under the lights.
Skateboarders: Check posted hours and always bring your helmet and pads for a safe session.

Wickline Park

Address: 800 S Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach, FL 32136

A quiet neighborhood park, Wickline features a playground, multi-use sports courts (basketball, tennis, volleyball), picnic pavilions, open fields, and shaded walking paths. It’s also the entry point to the beautiful Betty Steflik Memorial Preserve—a hidden gem for walks, birdwatching, and connecting with nature.
Suggestion: After park playtime, stroll into Flagler Beach for ice cream or a sunset by the ocean.

Ralph Carter Park (with Mini Skate Park)

Address: 1385 Rymfire Dr., Palm Coast, FL 32164

Located right next to Rymfire Elementary, Ralph Carter Park is packed with family fun. There’s a mini skate park for younger skaters, a size-appropriate playground, lighted multi-sport fields (great for a pick-up game of soccer or football), a basketball court, shaded picnic pavilions, BBQ grills, and walking trails.
Local tip: This is one of Palm Coast’s best-kept secrets—often less crowded than other big parks.
