Top 10 Things to Do in Palm Coast During the Holidays 2025

The holidays in Palm Coast are something special. After living in North Florida for nearly two decades, I've learned that our version of the season offers something you simply can't get anywhere else—a perfect blend of traditional holiday magic with that warm Florida twist that makes you remember why you moved here in the first place.

Whether you're a longtime resident looking to shake up your holiday routine or you're visiting family in the area, I've put together this list of the absolute best things to do in Palm Coast during the most wonderful time of the year. Trust me, we do the holidays a little differently here—and I wouldn't have it any other way.

1. Experience the Fantasy Lights Festival (November 29 - December 30)

This is non-negotiable—the Fantasy Lights Festival at Central Park is THE holiday tradition in Palm Coast. This year marks the 20th anniversary, and it's only gotten better with age.

Picture this: 57 animated light displays synchronized to festive music, Santa's Village, a Christmas train winding through the park, and yes—snow in Florida. All completely free (though donations support the Rotary Club's incredible community work).

The festival was created by Rotary member Bill Butler in memory of his daughter Tiffany's vision, and it's become the heart of our holiday season. Open 6:30-9:00 PM nightly through December 30, it's the perfect evening activity whether you're bringing the grandkids or having a date night.

Pro tip: The Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 29 at 6:00 PM kicks everything off with Santa appearances, food trucks, and hot cocoa. Don't miss the special 20th anniversary celebration on December 20!

2. Watch Skydiving Santa at the Flagler Beach Christmas Parade (December 6)

Only in Florida, right? The Holiday at the Beach Parade in Flagler Beach features something you won't see in any landlocked town—Santa Claus parachuting onto the beach to kick off the festivities.

Running from 1:00-2:00 PM on December 6, this parade brings holiday floats, classic cars, marching bands, and that unique coastal Christmas vibe down A1A. My kids talk about skydiving Santa all year long—it's become one of those traditions that defines childhood memories.

Park early (trust me on this), bring beach chairs, and maybe grab lunch at one of Flagler Beach's oceanfront restaurants before the parade starts. The route runs from North 6th Street to South 6th Street, right along the beach.

3. Catch the Starlight Parade in Town Center (December 6)

Here's where it gets fun—you can hit both parades in one day. After skydiving Santa wraps up in Flagler Beach at 2 PM, head to Palm Coast's Town Center for the Starlight Parade at 6:00 PM.

This dazzling evening parade features lit floats, marching bands, and pure holiday magic right in the heart of Palm Coast. Pre-parade activities start at 4:00 PM with photos with Santa, so make an afternoon of it. The kids can meet Santa, grab some food from the trucks, and then settle in for an incredible parade under the stars.

The coordination between these two parades means you can experience a full day of holiday festivities—beach vibes in the afternoon, then twinkling lights in the evening. That's the Palm Coast holiday experience in a nutshell.

4. Cruise the Holiday Boat Parade (December 13)

If you haven't experienced the Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade, you're missing one of the most unique traditions in Flagler County. December 13 at 6:00 PM, the Intracoastal Waterway transforms into a floating light show.

Boats of all sizes—from kayaks to yachts—decked out in thousands of twinkling lights cruise down the waterway in what's become one of the largest community boat parades in Florida. Find a spot along the Intracoastal (Waterfront Park is popular, but get there early), bring blankets and hot chocolate, and watch the magic unfold on the water.

There's something about those lights reflecting off the water, the salt air mixing with the holiday spirit—it's pure coastal Florida Christmas magic.

5. Stroll Washington Oaks Gardens State Park (Open Daily)

Winter is actually the perfect time to visit Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. While everyone else is shoveling snow, we're enjoying azaleas and camellias in full bloom through the cooler months.

This stunning 425-acre park features 20 acres of formal gardens, majestic live oaks, peaceful reflection ponds, and that famous coquina rock beach along the Atlantic. During the holidays, the park hosts Holiday in the Gardens on December 13 (10 AM - 3 PM) with special activities and festive touches throughout the grounds.

Cost: Just $5 per vehicle for up to 8 people
Location: 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd, Palm Coast

It's the perfect escape when you need a break from the holiday hustle—peaceful, beautiful, and quintessentially Florida. The gardens are especially gorgeous in winter, and the coquina rock beach is perfect for a quiet walk.

6. Create Memories at Marineland Dolphin Adventure (Year-Round)

Looking for something truly special to do with visiting family? Marineland Dolphin Adventure, the world's first oceanarium, offers an unforgettable experience just minutes down scenic A1A.

Interactive dolphin programs let you meet, touch, play with, and even swim with these incredible animals. The Behind the Seas Park Pass (included with admission) features dolphin training demonstrations, daily sand tiger shark feedings, sea turtle encounters, and a fascinating historical museum.

This is the kind of experience that makes the holidays memorable—something the grandkids will talk about for years. Plus, it's a great option for those days when you need indoor activities (though let's be honest, even in December, we're spoiled with great weather).

Bonus: It's located right on A1A, so you can combine it with a scenic coastal drive and lunch at one of the beachfront restaurants.

7. Attend the Bunnell Christmas Celebration (December 12)

Don't overlook our neighbors to the west! Bunnell's Christmas Celebration on December 12 (5:00-9:00 PM) is a free, family-friendly extravaganza featuring:

  • Carnival rides and games

  • Florida snow (always a hit with the kids)

  • Obstacle courses

  • Christmas characters

  • FREE s'mores

  • Live music

  • Holiday activities at every turn

Location: 300 Citrus St., Bunnell (about 20 minutes from Palm Coast)
Cost: Completely FREE

This is old-school community Christmas at its finest—the kind of event where you run into neighbors, the kids run wild with their friends, and everyone leaves with that warm holiday feeling.

8. Shop the Palm Coast Holiday Market (December 7)

Support local while crossing names off your gift list! The Palm Coast Holiday Market on December 7 (4:30-9:00 PM) brings local vendors, artisans, and craftspeople to Town Center during the Fantasy Lights Festival.

Find unique, handcrafted gifts you won't see at the mall, grab dinner from food trucks, let the kids explore Santa's Village, and catch the Fantasy Lights displays all in one evening. I've found some of my favorite gifts here—the kind of unique, locally-made items that actually mean something.

Pro tip: Bring cash for certain vendors, and arrive hungry—the food truck lineup is always excellent.

9. Drive Through "Starry Nights" in Flagler Beach (All December)

Throughout December, Flagler Beach participates in Starry Nights, where buildings, homes, and landmarks along A1A light up with holiday displays. It's not a single event—it's an entire month-long transformation of our beach town.

Take an evening drive down A1A from Palm Coast through Flagler Beach, windows down (because this is Florida), and soak in the coastal Christmas atmosphere. Stop for dinner at one of the oceanfront restaurants, walk the pier under the lights, and enjoy that special combination of palm trees and Christmas decorations that makes Florida feel like home.

Best time: Early evening right after sunset, when the lights pop against the twilight sky.

10. Explore Holiday Neighborhood Light Displays (Late November - December)

Some of my favorite holiday memories are the spontaneous evenings we've spent driving through local neighborhoods checking out light displays. Palm Coast residents go ALL OUT, and certain streets have become legendary.

Must-see neighborhoods:

  • Slumberland Path - Multiple coordinated displays

  • Biltwell Place - Entire community participation

  • 11 Biltwell Place - "Brightest House" winner

  • 15 Slumberland Path - "Most Interesting" display

  • 100 Bellaire Drive - "Best in Show"

Make an evening of it: create a route, load up the car with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, crank up the holiday music, and let the magic happen. Some of our best family conversations have happened during these drives—something about twinkling lights and darkness makes everyone open up.

Bonus: Why Palm Coast Holidays Are Special

Look, I grew up with white Christmases and all that traditional winter wonderland stuff. But after 19 years in North Florida, I can tell you—Palm Coast during the holidays offers something you can't get anywhere else.

We've got the community spirit, the traditions, the lights, the parades—all the things that make the holidays magical. But we also have 70-degree days, beaches, dolphins, and palm trees strung with Christmas lights. It's the best of both worlds.

Whether you're catching skydiving Santa in the afternoon and a light parade in the evening, or spending a December morning kayaking before heading to the Fantasy Lights Festival that night—this is holiday living that'll make your northern friends seriously jealous.

Plan Your Perfect Palm Coast Holiday

The beauty of Palm Coast's holiday season is that you can pack in as much or as little as you want. Hit all the major events for a full-throttle holiday experience, or pick and choose for a more relaxed approach.

Must-do dates:

  • December 6 - Double parade day (Flagler Beach at 1 PM, Palm Coast at 6 PM)
