Palm Coast’s Best Holiday Light Displays: 2025 Guide

After nearly two decades of calling Flagler Beach home and exploring every corner of our coastal community, I can tell you with certainty—there's nothing quite like the holiday season in Palm Coast. The moment Thanksgiving wraps up, our city transforms into a twinkling wonderland that rivals anything you'd find in the bigger cities up north, but with that warm Florida charm we all love.

Whether you're a longtime resident or new to the area, I've put together this guide to help you experience the absolute best holiday light displays Palm Coast has to offer this year. From the legendary Fantasy Lights Festival celebrating its 20th anniversary to hidden neighborhood gems that'll make your kids press their noses against the car windows, we've got it all.

Fantasy Lights Festival: Two Decades of Magic at Town Center

Let me start with the crown jewel of Palm Coast's holiday season—the Fantasy Lights Festival at Central Park. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this beloved tradition, and trust me, it's gotten better every single year.

Running November 29 through December 30 (6:30-9:00 PM nightly), this free community event features 57 animated light displays that bring stories to life across the park. What started as one man's vision has grown into something truly special. The festival was created by Rotary Club member Bill Butler in memory of his daughter Tiffany's dream of bringing holiday magic to our community. Over the past two decades, the event has contributed over $375,000 to local causes and logged more than 36,000 volunteer hours—that's the kind of community spirit that makes Palm Coast home.

What to expect:

  • Santa's Village (the kids absolutely love this part)

  • Train rides through the displays

  • Snow on select weekends (yes, snow in Florida!)

  • Food trucks and hot cocoa

  • Completely free admission (donations appreciated)

Special dates to mark your calendar:

  • November 29, 6:00 PM: 14th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off the season

  • December 6, 6:00 PM: Starlight Parade (photos with Santa start at 4:00 PM)

  • December 20: Special 20th anniversary celebration

As someone who's taken my family every year since we moved here, I can tell you the displays just keep getting more impressive. The synchronized music, the detail in each installation, the way the lights reflect off the lake—it's pure magic.

Holiday Boat Parade: Lights on the Water

If you haven't experienced the Holiday Boat Parade on the Intracoastal Waterway, you're missing out on one of the most unique holiday traditions in Flagler County. December 13 at 6:00 PM, decorated boats light up the water in a floating parade that's become a beloved annual event.

Find a spot along the Intracoastal (I recommend getting there early—it gets crowded!) and watch as boats decked out in thousands of lights glide by. Bring lawn chairs, some hot chocolate in a thermos, and maybe a blanket—December evenings can get a bit crisp, even here in Florida.

Neighborhood Light Displays: The Hidden Gems

Here's where I get excited, because some of the best displays in Palm Coast aren't at official events—they're right in our neighborhoods, put up by passionate residents who truly embrace the holiday spirit.

Must-see neighborhood displays:

Slumberland Path - Consistently one of the most talked-about displays in Palm Coast. Multiple homes on this street coordinate their lights, creating an entire street of holiday magic. It's won "favorite lights" recognition from locals year after year.

Biltwell Place - This entire neighborhood goes all out. The community won "Best Community Display," and for good reason. Drive slowly through here—you'll want to take it all in. Standout homes include:

  • 11 Biltwell Place (won "Brightest House")

  • 5 Biltwell Place (incredible detail work)

Other notable addresses:

  • 15 Slumberland Path - Won "Most Interesting" display

  • 3 Fairmont Lane - "Best Theme" winner

  • 100 Bellaire Drive - "Best in Show"

  • 22 White Star

  • 52 Freeport Lane

  • 3 Boston Lane

  • 6 Sea Ship Place

  • Whippoorwill area

Pro tip: Make an evening of it. Create a route hitting multiple neighborhoods, bring the family, and turn on some Christmas music. Some of my favorite family memories are from these spontaneous light tours.

Ho Ho Joes: The Interactive Experience

For something truly special, check out Ho Ho Joes Christmas Display—an interactive light show that syncs to music on 88.1 FM. Pull up, tune your car radio to the station, and watch as the lights dance perfectly in time with classic holiday songs. It's the kind of thing that makes even teenagers put down their phones and actually enjoy the moment.

Beyond Palm Coast: St. Augustine's Nights of Lights

While Palm Coast has incredible displays, I'd be remiss not to mention our neighbor to the north. St. Augustine's Nights of Lights (November 15, 2025 - January 11, 2026) is award-winning for a reason. The historic downtown draped in millions of white lights is absolutely stunning. It's about a 45-minute drive, perfect for a date night or special family outing.

Making the Most of Your Light Tour

After years of light-hunting with my family, here are my tried-and-true tips:

Best times to go:

  • Weeknights (Sunday-Thursday) are less crowded for neighborhood tours

  • Arrive at Fantasy Lights around 7:00 PM for the best experience

  • Go earlier in December if you want to beat the crowds

What to bring:

  • Hot chocolate in a thermos

  • Christmas music playlist

  • Camera (though honestly, just enjoy the moment)

  • Patience—traffic can get heavy in popular neighborhoods

  • Cash for donations at Fantasy Lights

Be respectful:

  • Drive slowly through neighborhoods

  • Don't block driveways

  • Keep music at reasonable levels

  • These are people's homes—admire from the street

Why This Season Matters

Look, I know the holidays can get hectic. Between shopping, cooking, work commitments, and everything else, it's easy to let traditions slip by. But I'm telling you, taking an hour to drive around and look at lights with your family? That's the stuff that sticks with your kids. My teenagers still ask every year when we're doing our "lights tour," even though they act too cool for everything else.

Palm Coast's holiday lights represent something bigger than just decoration—they're about community, tradition, and that Florida-style holiday spirit that drew many of us here in the first place. Whether it's the Rotary Club volunteers setting up Fantasy Lights for the 20th year, or the family on Biltwell Place who spends weeks perfecting their display, it's all about bringing joy to our neighbors.

Plan Your Visit

The holiday light season in Palm Coast runs from late November through the end of December, with some displays staying up into early January. I recommend starting with the Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 29—it's the perfect way to kick off the season—and then making multiple trips throughout December to catch everything.

Whether you're continuing a longtime tradition or starting a new one, Palm Coast's holiday light displays offer something magical for everyone. I'll see you out there—I'll be the one in the car full of kids with noses pressed to the windows, just like I have been for the past 19 years.

Happy holidays, and enjoy the lights!
